CMC

The Combined Municipal Campaign allows city employees to demonstrate their strong sense of community by supporting environmental, health and social welfare issues that concern the citizens of Houston.

The Combined Municipal Campaign is partnered with Bright Funds to make it easier for our employees to donate to the charity of their choice. Bright Funds is a charitable giving platform that helps individuals and companies support the causes they are passionate about.

Qualified nonprofit agencies do not need to apply to be part of the CMC. Through Bright Funds, employees can choose to donate to all eligible U.S.-based nonprofits from the IRS database.

Agencies are encouraged to set up an account and portal with Bright Network. This is where you can access your data, generate donor reports, manage your Bright Funds profile, and sign up for ACH payments. Visit https://hello.brightfunds.org/for-nonprofits/ to register. Access to those tools is free. There is subscription access that gives you more tools, but you are not required to sign up for additional access.

In addition to donation management, there is a volunteer component. You can with us to create volunteer opportunities for City employees. The volunteer component pulls volunteer events from VolunteerMatch, but also allows for a catalog of volunteer events for City employees.

For more information about Bright Funds, view the FAQs for U.S.-based nonprofits.
