Teams of Houston Health Department staff and volunteers went door-to-door in targeted zip codes educating and encouraging Houstonians to “Take Your Best Shot”.  

This “boots on the ground” community engagement is part of the department’s “Access and Equity” strategy to ensure underserved, vulnerable populations are getting vaccinated.

Part of this effort includes opening additional community vaccine sites located in these areas to remove access barriers/obstacles from getting vaccinated.

The ongoing door-to-door activities allow us to personally inform residents about these community vaccine sites, and when and how to get the vaccine.
