Dear City of Houston Employees,
I want to extend best wishes for a happy holiday! May you and your loved ones experience the joy, peace, and goodwill that permeates the air this time of year.
Over the next several days, I plan to spend time with my daughter, Ashley. We’ll trim the tree, exchange gifts and I’ll probably indulge in too many sweet potato pies and green bean casseroles. However, that’s what the holidays are about, relaxing with family and friends and rejoicing in the happiness that abounds.
As the year winds down, let us take the time this month to remember the things that truly matter. More importantly, let us remember the importance of self-care. Take the time you need to recharge and come back ready to take on the new year.
In 2018, we celebrated several significant accomplishments and faced some challenges, but time and again we showed that we are Houston strong and a resilient city.
I am proud to have each of you on my team because I am fortunate to work with the best the city has to offer.
Thank you for all that you do. I can’t wait to see what new goals and adventures we will embrace as we ring in 2019.
Happy Holidays,
Mayor Sylvester Turner
